Choosing the right bin size is crucial for a successful project. Too small, and you'll need a second haul. Too large, and you're paying for space you don't use. At Base Bins, we offer three carefully selected sizes that cover the vast majority of residential and commercial projects in Ottawa.

Our Three Bin Size Options

8-Yard Bin: Compact & Efficient

Our 8-yard bin is perfect when space is tight or your project is smaller in scope. At 12 feet long by 8 feet wide by just 3 feet high, it fits easily in compact driveways and leaves room for vehicles.

The lower 3-foot walls make loading easier—especially for heavier items. You won't struggle to lift materials over tall sides.

15-Yard Bin: Maximum Value

Our 15-yard bin is our most popular choice because it handles larger projects while still fitting in standard driveways. At 16 feet long by 8 feet wide by 4 feet high, it provides nearly double the capacity for just $20 more.

• Full kitchen or bathroom gut-outs
• Complete roof tear-offs
• Large deck and fence demolitions
• Whole-house cleanouts
• Construction site cleanup
• Commercial projects

30-Yard Bin: Maximum Volume

Our 30-yard bin is the largest roll-off we offer. At approximately 22 feet long by 8 feet wide by 6 feet high, it holds about double the volume of the 15-yard—roughly 14 to 16 pickup truck loads. It's a 1-day rental at $350 and needs a clear, level area such as a wide driveway or commercial lot.

Because every Base Bins rental includes the same 8 tons of weight, the 30-yard is at its best for bulky but lighter material. For dense, heavy debris like concrete or soil, a smaller bin or our clean fill service is the better value.

• Major commercial renovations and fit-outs
• Whole-home and estate cleanouts
• Big demolition and large roof tear-offs

• Bulky, lightweight materials that take up space

How to Choose

Choose the 8-Yard Bin if:

• Your project involves a single room or small area
• Driveway space is very limited
• You're disposing primarily of heavy materials (concrete, dirt)
• Budget is the primary concern

Choose the 15-Yard Bin if:

• You want extra capacity as a buffer

• You prefer one haul over potentially needing two

Choose the 30-Yard Bin if:

Our Recommendation

For most homeowners, the 15-yard bin is the sweet spot—the extra $20 over the 8-yard is excellent insurance against overfilling and needing a second pickup. Step up to the 30-yard when you're tackling a large construction job or a full property cleanout and need maximum room in a single haul. When in doubt, call us and we'll size it for you.

All Bins Include 8 Tons

Here's what makes Base Bins unique: all three of our bin sizes include the same 8-ton weight capacity. This is exceptionally generous compared to competitors and means you likely won't face surprise weight overage charges. Keep in mind that on the larger 30-yard bin, that 8-ton limit makes it best suited to bulky, lighter material rather than dense, heavy debris.
